A chicken coop is a building where chickens are kept. Interiors usually have nest boxes for egg laying, and also perches for the birds to sleep on. Coops for meat birds often have neither of these features. There may also be an attached outdoor run, and both the interior and exterior floor of the chicken coop is often covered with a material, such as straw or wood chips, to contain the chicken waste and to allow easier cleanup of the chicken coop. Most have some kind of ventilation to help air out any odors that may occur.

Today was delivery day on the camper trailer that I’m going to build into a portable chicken coop.
The trailer has to be flat-bedded about 13 miles from where it is to my house.
My buddy owns a tow service, he brought out his crew to git-r-done! Watch to see the massive power on his Ford diesels.
This is part one of the series–enjoy.

This is the second video installment of our chicken coop door. This is the automatic coop door using a Add-A-Motor 80 drapery motor [AAM80]. Hooked it up to a timer and now the door opens and closes automatically. Just another way to increase the cool factor of your chicken coop.
The first video was a manual door that can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHYa2PEJRHk Building a coop door is easy and functional.

Building the chicken coop with my dad, Gary, and son, Calvin. I got really lucky with this video… first, with one of my dad’s bits of sage advice and second, with a little political commentary courtesy of my dad.
