Stalking Roxy joined LA’s underground music scene in early 2001, with youth on their side and the love of punk, alternative rock, and bright third-wave ska in their hearts. Lead by Deziree Zuniga, a powerful and charismatic front woman, this 6-piece band has created the catchiest, ska-influenced music to leave California since the third-wave ska boom. Stalking Roxy’s heavy lean on rock while still blasting away with intense horns instantly brings comparisons to No Doubt, Save Ferris, and Mealticket –yet the band maintains the ska feel throughout with nods to Reel Big Fish, Mustard Plug and Catch 22. After releasing their first six song EP, ‘Jake’s Fury,’ in June of 2002, Stalking Roxy was asked to be part of American Ska history with the track “Ska Band” appearing on the STILL STANDING 4xCD box set (5000+ copies). Soon after, Stalking Roxy toured California extensively and truly found a voice all their own – conquering Los Angeles and Orange County by way of The Knitting Factory, El Rey Theatre, Whisky, Roxy, Allen Theatre, Troubadour, Viper Room, and legendary all-ages mecca Chain Reaction. Staling Roxy1s debut 11-track album “Look In The Mirror” shows how far these So Cal kids have come in 3 short years –catchy emotional lyrics, tight musicianship, a grinding rhythm section topped off by commanding, emotional vocals. Ska-influenced punk has outlived the “trend” moniker through hard working bands like Stalking Roxy, and the band plans to tour extensively in 2004 — taking them far outside California to thousands of eager new ska fans. Be a part of this great beginning!

In 2001, the legendary, influential and voraciously eclectic band Fishbone arrived to record their newest material at the Henhouse, a free community recording studio. The only rule: leave your shoes at the door. The film centers primarily on the creation and recording of the songs in the studio – giving a privileged viewpoint as if one were a member of the band. Band documentaries may come and go – but this is Fishbone. Way up close.-www.HenHouseStudios.com

Cattywompus formed in Los Angeles in the year 2000 out of a pure love of music and its ability to stir emotion in the minds of the audience. Lead by frontman Neeatz and anchored by the seamless rhythm team of brothers, bassist James Webber and drummer John Webber (known as the “Bro Shaq Style”), the Cattywompus lineup represents a diverse set of influences that unite in one, multi-dimensional sound. With Aaron Bateman’s lead guitar and The Witch Doc’s percussion, Cattywompus applies a sense of classic funk rock to a fresh, progressive movement that is soulful, powerful and original. After the release of their five-song EP, entitled “Backwards Evolution”, Cattywompus has gained significant notoriety in the Los Angeles music scene and beyond. Cattywompus has found their fit in the underground music scene with bands such as Weapon of Choice, Fishbone, Trulio Disgracias, Orgone, Jabudah and Poopan. Now residing on the sun-splashed beaches of Los Angeles, the band is in pre-production working on tracks for their first full length album of original groove-oriented California music.-Hen House Studios is a record label and documentary film company in Venice, California. Many people ask us how we got the name H.B. Surround Sound. So after explaining it too many times, here it is for all that don’t know. All five of us grew up in Huntington Beach, leading to the H.B. Each member of the band was influenced by different as well as similar styles of music. While Jon Jon was pounding his bongos to his impressive reggae collection, Doug was learning as many Heavy Metal, MetallicA, NOFX, and Led Zepplin riffs that he could. Matt and Jake meanwhile were submerged into the Beatles, classic rock, and punk; while Mike was listening to everything and mastering it at the same time. In high school we all were deep in the local music scene as we still are today. This is where we got Surround Sound. All of the different varieties and styles of music and sounds we heard that surrounded us as we grew up now come out in our music. So we thought it would be the best way to have a name for a band, as well as, describe how we got to the style and sound that we have today. The style and sound that is, H.B. Surround Sound.-Hen House Studios is a record label and documentary film company in Venice, California.
