Stalking Roxy joined LA’s underground music scene in early 2001, with youth on their side and the love of punk, alternative rock, and bright third-wave ska in their hearts. Lead by Deziree Zuniga, a powerful and charismatic front woman, this 6-piece band has created the catchiest, ska-influenced music to leave California since the third-wave ska boom. Stalking Roxy’s heavy lean on rock while still blasting away with intense horns instantly brings comparisons to No Doubt, Save Ferris, and Mealticket –yet the band maintains the ska feel throughout with nods to Reel Big Fish, Mustard Plug and Catch 22. After releasing their first six song EP, ‘Jake’s Fury,’ in June of 2002, Stalking Roxy was asked to be part of American Ska history with the track “Ska Band” appearing on the STILL STANDING 4xCD box set (5000+ copies). Soon after, Stalking Roxy toured California extensively and truly found a voice all their own – conquering Los Angeles and Orange County by way of The Knitting Factory, El Rey Theatre, Whisky, Roxy, Allen Theatre, Troubadour, Viper Room, and legendary all-ages mecca Chain Reaction. Staling Roxy1s debut 11-track album “Look In The Mirror” shows how far these So Cal kids have come in 3 short years –catchy emotional lyrics, tight musicianship, a grinding rhythm section topped off by commanding, emotional vocals. Ska-influenced punk has outlived the “trend” moniker through hard working bands like Stalking Roxy, and the band plans to tour extensively in 2004 — taking them far outside California to thousands of eager new ska fans. Be a part of this great beginning!-www.HenHouseStudios.com

Old friends Gene Bowen and John Densmore recently joined forces to lay down a few songs at The Hen House. Bowen had written the songs many years ago and was very excited to finally bring them to life. With Densmore, formerly of The Doors, on the drums, Jimmy Hazz on the bass and Art Ellis on the soprano saxophone, Bowen had all the necessary pieces in place to create three classic songs. Bowen plays the guitar as well as sings his very inspiring and thought-provoking lyrics. Their music will take you back a few decades and remind you of a time when songs were like poems, full of heart and soul. The Hen House enjoyed the journey and so will you.-Hen House Studios is a record label and documentary film company in Venice, California. Liquid Sunshine formed about five years ago in the City of Angels. Lead by the husband and wife team of Richie and Pamela Williams, this band is like a family. The musicians are good friends as well as band members. Pamela is the lead singer and she brings a beautiful voice and a strong stage presence to the group. Richie is nothing short of explosive on the drums. Ralph Rivers plays bass, Mark Harden plays guitar, James Matthews plays keyboards and rhythm guitar, and Frankie Camano plays percussion. Liquid Sunshine has all the ingredients for success. They rock hard and excite the crowd, while playing to deeply emotional melodies and lyrics. Their show is the complete concert experience. This band is the real deal.

The group Hollow Log was born when a group of old friends got together way back in 1997 in Los Angeles, California. David Markowitz plays violin, mandolin and sings. Jim Knight plays percussion. Paul Lacques plays guitar and sings. Marc Doten plays bass. And Steven Woodruff plays the accordion and sings as well. The band Hollow Log is self-described as “an all-acoustic wall of hillbilly energy, heavily seasoned with Cajun, Gypsy, and Celtic traditional music.” The five-member group has performed at events for the Getty Center, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and KCET-TV. Hollow Log has a sound that’s all their own. It’s too hard to really categorize, so you better heard it for yourself. You’ll be happy that you did.

Cattywompus formed in Los Angeles in the year 2000 out of a pure love of music and its ability to stir emotion in the minds of the audience. Lead by frontman Neeatz and anchored by the seamless rhythm team of brothers, bassist James Webber and drummer John Webber (known as the “Bro Shaq Style”), the Cattywompus lineup represents a diverse set of influences that unite in one, multi-dimensional sound. With Aaron Bateman’s lead guitar and The Witch Doc’s percussion, Cattywompus applies a sense of classic funk rock to a fresh, progressive movement that is soulful, powerful and original. After the release of their five-song EP, entitled “Backwards Evolution”, Cattywompus has gained significant notoriety in the Los Angeles music scene and beyond. Cattywompus has found their fit in the underground music scene with bands such as Weapon of Choice, Fishbone, Trulio Disgracias, Orgone, Jabudah and Poopan.
